The Grange has been concerned with community
betterment since its inception over 137 years ago. The Grange was organized to make the
community a better place to live for each of us. Today we are still concerned with the
community and what we can do to make it a better place to live for our families and
neighbors.
In 2006-2007, we are going to recognize an active volunteer EMT in
someone’s community. You can write a story telling of his or her
accomplishments as a volunteer and what they have done for their
community. The volunteer, along with his or her spouse, will be
honored at the President’s Banquet at the State Grange Session in
December 2007.
It is important for each Grange to plan and complete a community
service project.
The Community Service Program is under the
direction of the New Jersey State Community Service Department and
how it is judged and scored will be up to us. The National Grange
will provide the State Grange with monetary awards and will be
receiving reports on the individual state’s accomplishments. It is
important to plan and accomplish a worthwhile program in your
community.
The date that these reports will be due to
Mary Davis is October 15th, 2007 and should be written in narrative
form mentioning all the service projects of the Grange for the year.
Monetary awards will be as follows:
First Place: $100.00 and a certificate
Second Place: $75.00 and a certificate
Third Place: $50.00 and a certificate
Fourth Place: $25.00 and a certificate |
